Test Lab Engineer

We are looking for a Test Lab Engineer to perform tests in our ISO 17025 Accredited facility.  Handling of sensitive materials, performing tests to specified procedures, maintaining a schedule and recording data accurately will be required.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling firearms, performing controlled ballistics tests, operating computers and capable of obtaining a Secret Clearance through our facility.  Attention to detail, safety and procedures are a must in this fast paced environment.  The ideal candidate will be able to follow direction closely and take initiative to start new development efforts.


  • Receive, and label samples accurately to enter into test databases

  • Execute tests in accordance with standard procedures and accurately record findings on supplied data sheets (Paper and Electronic)

  • Perform ballistic testing which requires handling of firearms, ammunition and sensitive data regularly

  • Coordinate tests with Test Lab Manager and adhere to a provided schedule

  • Troubleshoot lab equipment and identify potential maintenance needs

  • Flexible schedule is ideal as some tests require intermittent attention outside of normal business hours within reason.

  • Design test fixtures and apparatus’

  • Develop new test procedures in coordination with VP of Engineering and VP of Technology Development

  • Maintain procedures and documentation in support of ISO 17025 accreditation.


  • United States Citizen

  • Able to obtain a United States Secret Security Clearance through our Facility Security Officer

  • Experience operating a computer with the use of MS Office based software and database systems

  • Experience operating electrical and mechanical lab equipment and potentially dangerous materials (ammunition, firearms, chemicals etc.)

  • Good physical condition, capable of working on feet majority of the day in addition to carrying moving test samples around the lab

  • LabVIEW Experience preferred

  • Able to lift 50 lbs consistently

  • 2 Year Engineering Degree or 4 Year Engineering Degree
